Biography
Kiah Leone is a medical anthropologist and health scientist from Prince George, British Columbia. Her research focuses on the sexual and reproductive health of survivors of female genital cutting (FGC) in Canada, Egypt, and Australia. Her dissertation applied a combination of theoretical perspectives including intersectional feminist theory, complexity theory, and multisystemic resilience to explore the recent introduction of clitoral restoration surgery (CRS) as a potential restorative procedure for survivors of FGC in Canada and abroad. Through this work, Kiah has become interested in sex-positive and pleasure-centered approaches to sexual education.
