Regular biography
Emma Rasiel is the Richard Y. Li Professor of the Practice in the Economics department at Duke University. She serves as Teaching Director of the Duke Financial Economics Center and Associate Chair of the Economics department. Her teaching includes courses such as Practical Financial Markets, Intermediate Finance, and Behavioral Finance, which she also offers on Coursera. She develops curricular and extra-curricular programs for Duke undergraduates, including bank-sponsored case study competitions, an alumni-student mentoring program, and mock interview days. Rasiel joined Duke in 2003 after completing her PhD in finance at the Fuqua School and has remained at the university since. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics from Oxford University and an MBA from the Wharton School.
