Ellen E Meade

Ellen E Meade is a Research Professor of Economics at Duke University's Economics Department. She joined the department in July 2022 after a 25-year career at the Federal Reserve Board, where she served as a Special Adviser to the Fed Board of Governors and Vice Chair Richard Clarida, as well as Senior Adviser in the Division of Monetary Affairs. From 2011-2021, she focused on monetary policy and communications, contributing to the Federal Reserve’s new framework for monetary policy and the Fed Listens initiative. She also advised private-sector financial institutions on economic and policy outlooks prior to joining Duke. Her research interests include monetary policy and economic communications.
