Erica Field

Erica Field is the James B. Duke Distinguished Professor of Economics at Duke University, affiliated with the Economics department in the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. Her research interests include development economics, labor economics, economic demography, and health, with a focus on marriage and family, property rights, global health, and finance and entrepreneurship. She has received grants from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and IZA/DFID. Her work explores topics such as adolescent empowerment, female labor market participation, microfinance impacts, and family planning access. Field is also affiliated with the Duke Population Research Center and the Duke Center for International Development.
