Bruce J. Caldwell

Bruce J. Caldwell is a Research Professor of Economics at Duke University's Department of Economics. His research focuses on the history of economic thought, particularly the life and works of F. A. Hayek. He is the author of Hayek's Challenge: An Intellectual Biography of F. A. Hayek (2004) and has served as the general editor of the book series The Collected Works of F.A. Hayek since 2002. Caldwell is also the Director of the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke University, which has received grants from various foundations. He has held research fellowships at NYU, the LSE, and Cambridge University and was a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University in 2019-2020.
