Dr. Devin Holterman is an adjunct professor with research interests in the political, economic, and ecological dynamics of biodiversity conservation and the extractive industries and, in particular, where the two sectors converge. Devin is also a Senior Specialist, Mining at WWF-Canada, where he works to reduce and eliminate the impacts of mining on wildlife and habitat across Canada. Devin conducts research, analysis and outreach that advocates for improved industry practices and government regulations related to mineral exploration and development, reduces the impacts of operating mines, and supports the priorities of Indigenous communities. Prior to joining WWF-Canada, Devin led a collaborative research project with the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative (Y2Y) and the University of Northern British Columbia that developed an evidence-based social science research program for Y2Y. He holds a PhD from York University.
