Brian Franczak

Dr. Franczak continues to work on developing mixtures of multivariate distributions for classifying observations in data sets that have asymmetric features. Recently, he has become interested in extending these models to include high-dimensional data sets, data sets with missing values, and data sets with outlying, or spurious, observations. Dr. Franczak enjoys teaching statistics classes at every undergraduate level. Typically, Dr. Franczak teaches at least one section of Stat 151: Introduction to Applied Statistics each academic year and Stat 350: Sampling Theory and Applications when offered. Dr. Franczak enjoys supervising students via the third and fourth-year independent study courses, Stat 398 and Stat 498.
