About
Regular biography
Herbert Hui is the Joseph C. Ford Professor of Engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Cornell University. His research interests connect mechanics and materials, with a focus on adhesion science, fracture mechanics, and the mechanics of soft matter. Recent projects include bio-inspired architectures for controlled adhesion and friction properties, as well as crack propagation in self-healing polymer gels with high toughness. His work also involves computational and functional approaches to materials behavior. Hui's profile can be accessed at https://www.duffield.cornell.edu/people/herbert-hui/.
