Allan Lai

Education

Allan is a full-scope family nurse practitioner with an active clinical practice and advanced certification in point-of-care ultrasonography. His work focuses on clinical education, applied knowledge translation, and the integration of bedside ultrasound into routine clinical decision making. He completed his Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner degree at the University of Northern British Columbia. His capstone project examined the competencies required for nurse practitioners to use point-of-care ultrasound safely and competently in primary care practice. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Allan earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Thompson Rivers University in 2009 and completed specialty certificates in emergency nursing and critical care nursing at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Allan is the co host of the Resus Tonight podcast, a nursing focused educational podcast with more than 30,000 downloads across over 15 countries.
