Regular biography
David Orr is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University. He serves as Director of the Cornell Local Roads Program and Senior Extension Associate in Biological and Environmental Engineering. His research and professional work focus on low volume roads and seasonal effects on pavements, with interactions involving local, state, and national partners. Orr brings extensive experience in highway engineering and construction, including design, inspection, project management, and supervision. He is a licensed professional engineer in New York State and holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University. His courses include BEE/ENGRG 5330 and CEE 3410, which provide students with insights into engineering professionalism and geotechnical principles.
