ANG Wee Han

ANG Wee Han is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the National University of Singapore. He holds the title of Vice Dean (Special Duties) and Associate Provost (NUS Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Masters’ Programmes). His research interests include Inorganic/Organometallic Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry.

Wee Han Ang is a Professor of Chemistry at the National University of Singapore, specializing in the development of organometallic and coordination compounds for anticancer drug design. His research focuses on creating ruthenium-based antitumor agents that overcome multidrug resistance and enhance therapeutic efficacy. Ang's work explores the rational design of platinum (IV) compounds, ruthenium porphyrin complexes for photodynamic therapy, and organometallic compounds that resist hydrolysis. His studies also investigate the role of ligand substitutions in controlling DNA and protein targeting, as well as the use of ionic liquids in catalytic reactions. His research has significant implications for improving cancer treatment strategies through targeted chemotherapy and immunogenic cell death.
