Regular biography
Dr Bruce Dixon is a reader in the Department of Economics at The University of Sydney. His research interests include the reader-author relationship, the essay form, ordinary language philosophy, and American literature. Dr Dixon's monograph, Reading Relations: How Authors Enter Our Lives, is forthcoming in 2026 with the University of Iowa Press as part of The New American Canon series. His research has been published in Textual Practice and Critical Quarterly, and his writing has appeared in various outlets, including The Guardian and The Conversation.
