Lionel Babicz is a historian of Japan, Asia, the Earth, and the Universe. He teaches in the disciplines of Japanese Studies and Asian Studies. His research focuses on the history of Japanese–Korean relations and the intellectual history of the Meiji period (1868–1912). He also works on Big History, a transdisciplinary approach that integrates knowledge across the humanities and sciences.
