Prof STOLTERFOHT, Martin

Prof STOLTERFOHT, Martin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include perovskite and organic solar cells, perovskite-based tandem solar cells, optoelectronic devices, charge transport and recombination, ionic transport, device simulations, and optoelectronic and spectroscopic thin film characterization. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Graz and a Ph.D. from the University of Queensland. Martin Stolterfoht focuses on perovskite solar cells, with research interests in recombination losses, opto-electronic measurements, and charge transport. His work explores strategies to enhance the efficiency of perovskite-based solar cells through improved hole extraction, interfacial recombination suppression, and interface engineering. He investigates the impact of energy alignment and interfacial defects on device performance, aiming to achieve higher open-circuit voltages and stable operation. His studies also address non-radiative recombination mechanisms and the role of charge transport layers in limiting efficiency. By optimizing these factors, Stolterfoht contributes to the development of high-performance, scalable perovskite solar cells.
