Prof HUANG, Chaoran 黃超然

Prof HUANG, Chaoran 黃超然 is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His research interests include silicon photonics, nanophotonics, photonic integrated circuits, nonlinear optics, and related applications in neuromorphic computing, computing security, real-time information processing, and data interconnects. Prof HUANG holds a B.Eng. from HUST, China, and a Ph.D. from CUHK. Chaoran Huang is a researcher at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, focusing on photonic computing and integrated photonics. His work explores photonic matrix multiplication, silicon photonic-electronic neural networks, and photonic deep learning. Huang's research includes photonic neural networks for fiber nonlinearity compensation, reconfigurable all-optical nonlinear activation functions, and silicon microring synapses for high-precision photonic deep learning. He also investigates mode-division multiplexing, multimodal deep learning with on-chip diffractive optics, and photonic RF channelization using microcombs. His contributions span photonic accelerators, neuromorphic photonics, and integrated photonic processors for cognitive radio applications.
