Prof. Dr. Markus Zimmermann is a professor at the Technical University of Munich in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on design and optimization of complex technical systems, particularly in structural mechanics and mechatronics. He develops methods and optimization techniques applied in interdisciplinary automotive vehicle development. Zimmermann holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from MIT and previously worked at BMW for 12 years in vehicle development departments. His work includes projects on multidisciplinary design with emphasis on uncertainty and complexity.
