Prof. Dr. phil. Klaus Bengler is a professor at the Technical University of Munich, Department of Mechanical Engineering. His research focuses on micro ergonomics, human-machine interaction, digital human modeling, cooperative systems, and automation. His work includes the study of driver assistance systems, software ergonomics, and the interaction between humans and robots. Prof. Bengler's research addresses the impact of additional tasks on driving performance and the design of driver workspaces for future vehicles, considering demographic changes. His work integrates anthropometric and cognitive aspects. He studied psychology at the University of Regensburg and completed his doctorate in 1995 in collaboration with the BMW Group. He has led the 'Human-Machine Interaction' team at BMW Research & Technology and the associated Usability Lab since 2009.
