Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Freudenstein

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Freudenstein is affiliated with the Technical University of Munich, Department of Civil Engineering. His research focuses on the structural design of road and rail superstructure systems and aviation surfaces. After studying civil engineering at TUM in 1995 and working at Heilit + Woerner Bau AG, he became a research associate at TUM’s Chair of Traffic Route Construction in 1997. From 2002 to 2008, he worked at Pfleiderer Infrastrukturtechnik GmbH, now RAILONE GmbH, leading the technology and development department. Since 2008, he has been a full professor at the Chair of Traffic Route Construction at TUM and director of the test institute in Pasing, Munich.
