Prof. Dr. Florian Einsiedl is a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on the groundwater ecosystem, investigating hydraulic issues and new biogeochemical processes in shallow and deep groundwater systems. Stable isotope techniques are a key tool in his work, aiming to achieve a holistic understanding of groundwater ecosystems for sustainable use of drinking water resources. His academic career includes positions at LMU Munich, Helmholtz Center Munich, the National University of Ireland, and the Technical University of Denmark, before joining TUM as a full professor in 2012.
