Regular biography
Prof. Dr. Klaus Sedlbauer is a professor of Building Physics at the Technical University of Munich, Department of Civil Engineering. His research interests include Hygrothermics and Life Cycle Assessments, as well as big data analysis and forecasting of energy consumption and renovation costs in buildings. He has contributed to the design of urban surfaces and climate-culture-building interactions. Sedlbauer studied physics at LMU Munich and has held various academic and research positions, including director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP. Since 2014, he has been a professor at TUM. He is also a member of several academic and professional organizations, including the German Sustainable Building Council and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
