Regular biography
Dr Christopher Leonardi is an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering at The University of Queensland. His research focuses on computational models of complex fluid-solid interactions, including suspension transport, porous media flow, multiphase flows, and poromechanics. His work applies to subsurface fluid and solid mechanics in gas production from unconventional reservoirs and mineral extraction. Dr Leonardi is also Director of Teaching and Learning in the School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering, where he coordinates and lectures courses such as MECH3780 Computational Mechanics and ENGG1001 Programming for Engineers. He has published over 40 scientific papers, 30 conference papers, and one book chapter, and has graduated several PhD students. He is an Affiliate of the Centre for Multiscale Energy Systems.
