Regular biography
Associate Professor Poh Wah Hillock is an award-winning teacher at the University of Queensland, School of Mathematics and Physics. She teaches first-year mathematics and leads initiatives to improve the secondary-tertiary mathematics transition. Her work includes the development of learning resources and the Support Learning Tutorial (SLT) program, which supports at-risk first-year students. She has also led the MATH1051 UQ2U Blended Learning Project, integrating online and on-campus activities. Her research areas include combinatorics, mathematical education, and pure mathematics, with publications in journals such as the Australian Mathematics Education Journal and the Bulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society.
