Professor Chien Ming Wang

Professor Chien Ming Wang is a Professor in the School of Civil Engineering at The University of Queensland. He joined the university in January 2017 as the Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Chair Professor of Structural Engineering. Prior to this, he held various leadership roles at the National University of Singapore, including Director for the Engineering Science Programme and Vice-Dean of Undergraduate Programmes. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Engineers and has contributed extensively to research in structural mechanics, nanotechnology, and offshore engineering. His work includes the development of advanced models for structural analysis and the application of these models to real-world engineering challenges.

Chien Ming Wang is a Professor of Civil Engineering at The University of Queensland, specializing in Floating Structures, Structural Mechanics, Stability and Dynamics. His research focuses on the mechanical behavior of advanced materials and structural systems under dynamic and static loads. He has published extensively on topics such as nonlocal beam theories, vibration analysis, and hydroelasticity of very large floating structures. His work also explores the mechanical properties of nanomaterials, including graphene oxide and carbon nanotubes, and their applications in cement composites. Wang's research contributes to the development of sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
