Professor Tom Baldock

Professor Tom Baldock is the Head of School, Civil Engineering, at the School of Civil Engineering, The University of Queensland. His research primarily focuses on Coastal and Ocean Engineering, with additional interests in renewable energy and higher education. He has published over 120 journal papers and over 80 conference papers, notably in top-rated journals such as the Journal of Fluid Mechanics and the Proceedings of the Royal Society. He is currently principal supervisor for 6 Ph.D. students and has supervised 18 PhD students since 2007. His research projects include studies on coastal processes, coral reef hydrodynamics, tsunami impacts, and wave energy. He is also involved in national and international collaborations, including the National Reef Restoration and Adaption Program and the Wealth from Oceans Flagship project. He is a member of the Editorial Board for Coastal Engineering and the Engineers Australia National Committee on Coastal and Ocean Engineering.
