Seth Armitage

Regular biography

Seth Armitage is a Professor at The University of Edinburgh Business School, where he serves as Director of UG Programmes in Accounting and Finance. His research and teaching focus primarily on corporate finance, including topics such as payout policy, seasoned equity offers, and the cost of capital. Armitage has taught a wide range of finance courses at various levels, including undergraduate, MBA, and MSc programmes. He holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford, an MPhil in Philosophy of Mind from St Andrews, and a PhD in Finance from Edinburgh. He is an associate editor of the European Journal of Finance and has authored The Cost of Capital: Intermediate Theory (Cambridge University Press, 2005).
