Kenneth Amaeshi

Kenneth Amaeshi is a Chair in Sustainable Business and Public Policy Strategy at the University of Edinburgh Business School. His research interests include sector-level policies for sustainability, sustainable finance, and sustainability strategy in organisations. He has an expert level knowledge of developing and emerging economies and an extensive network in Africa. He is also a Visiting Professor of Leadership and Financial Markets in Africa at the London School of Economics and a Visiting Professor of Strategy at Lagos Business School, Nigeria. Additionally, he holds an Honorary Professorship of Business in Africa at the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town, South Africa. Currently, he is on a long-term leave of absence at the European University Institute, Florence, Italy, where he is a Professor of Sustainable Finance and Chair in Transnational Governance (Global South).

Kenneth Amaeshi is a scholar focused on Sustainable Finance, Strategy & Leadership, and Financial Market Governance. His research explores corporate social responsibility (CSR) in diverse institutional contexts, particularly in Africa and Asia, examining how CSR practices are shaped by local and global influences. He investigates the role of institutional voids, national contexts, and stakeholder engagement in promoting sustainable business practices. Amaeshi also analyzes the intersection of corporate governance, shareholder activism, and climate change, highlighting how organizations navigate sustainability tensions. His work emphasizes the importance of indigenous management approaches and the need for context-sensitive strategies in global business systems.
