Alan Sahakian

Alan Sahakian is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northwestern University, where he is also affiliated by courtesy with Biomedical Engineering. He serves as Senior Advisor to the Dean. His research interests include cardiac electrophysiology, irreversible electroporation for cancer ablation, RF ablation for cancer treatment, non-contact vital signs monitoring, and beyond-CMOS logic realizations. He is also involved in various publications and projects related to biomedical engineering and electrical engineering.

Alan V. Sahakian is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and (by courtesy) Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University. His research focuses on cardiac electrophysiology, particularly atrial fibrillation, with an emphasis on microwave and millimeter-wave ablation techniques for treating cardiac arrhythmias. His work explores the use of advanced signal processing methods for diagnosing and characterizing atrial fibrillation, including the analysis of heart rate variability and fibrillatory wave characteristics. Sahakian also investigates biomedical applications of photonic nanojets and wireless electrotherapy systems for implantable medical devices. His research integrates engineering and clinical approaches to develop innovative solutions for cardiac rhythm disorders.
