Regular biography
Tao is an associate professor at the School of Computer Science and Technology, and a member of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence. His research focuses on visual analytics, scientific visualization, and data mining, with a particular emphasis on the visualization and analysis of complex scientific data. He has published numerous papers in top-tier conferences and journals, including IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics, IEEE Pacific Visualization Symposium, and the Journal of Visualization. His work has been widely recognized for its contributions to the fields of data visualization, machine learning, and human-computer interaction. Tao has also been involved in several research projects funded by national and provincial grants, and he has mentored numerous graduate students in his research group.
