WIJERATHNE Lalith is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Tokyo, affiliated with the Earthquake Research Institute. His research focuses on computational earthquake engineering, computational mechanics, and high-resolution simulations of post-disaster economy. His work includes 3D large-scale simulations of super-shear earthquakes, HPC-enhanced agent-based economic simulations, and higher-order extensions of PDS-FEM for crack propagation studies. He has contributed to projects involving MPI+MPI hybrid approaches and large urban area evacuation simulations. His academic background includes a Doctorate in Civil Engineering from The University of Tokyo, and he has been associated with the Earthquake Research Institute since 2012.
