SAWADA Yohei

Yohei Sawada is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Tokyo. His research focuses on hydrometeorological disaster prediction and simulation-observation integration. Sawada's work aims to develop technologies for preventing floods and droughts by improving the observation and prediction of natural and social spaces, as well as exploring social systems to implement these technologies. His research group pursues "Numerical Social-space Prediction (NSP)" to contribute to resilient civilization. Sawada has held various research positions at institutions such as the Meteorological Research Institute, Japan Meteorological Agency, and RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The University of Tokyo in 2016.
