Chris Gilligan is a Fellow at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the School of Biological Sciences and the Department of Plant Sciences. His research focuses on food security, epidemics, and the use of epidemiological modelling to predict and optimise the surveillance and control of invasive pests and pathogens affecting agricultural crops, horticultural systems, forests, and natural ecosystems. His work incorporates mathematical and computational modelling, meteorological modelling, Bayesian statistical inference, spatial modelling, and statistical data analysis.
