Dr Alexander Gilbert is a Lecturer in the School of Mathematics & Statistics at The University of New South Wales. He completed a BSc (Hons) in Applied Mathematics at UNSW Sydney in 2013, followed by a PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2018, both at UNSW. After his PhD, Dr Gilbert worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Heidelberg from 2018 to 2020, and returned to UNSW in late 2020. His research focuses on computational mathematics and numerical analysis, particularly in numerical methods for high-dimensional integrals and applications in uncertainty quantification.
