Daniel Field

Daniel Field is a Fellow at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the School of Biological Sciences and the Department of Earth Sciences. He serves as the Strickland Curator of Ornithology at the University of Cambridge Museum of Zoology. His research focuses on macroevolution, ornithology, palaeontology, vertebrate palaeontology, and bird evolution. His group investigates the evolutionary history of birds and other amniotes through the vertebrate fossil record, integrating organismal biology with phylogenetic analysis to explore the emergence of extant vertebrate diversity. His work employs techniques such as microCT scanning, CT scanning, and phylogenetics.
