Richard Tilley

Professor Richard David Tilley is the Director of the Electron Microscope Unit at The University of New South Wales, where he is also a Professor in the School of Chemistry. His research focuses on the solution synthesis of nanoparticles for applications in catalysis, biomedical imaging, and other fields. Tilley holds a Masters of Chemistry from Oxford University and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge, UK. He served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Toshiba Basic R&D Center in Japan and spent 10 years at Victoria University of Wellington, where he became Deputy Head of School and an Associate Professor. He joined UNSW in 2015 as Director of the Electron Microscope Unit.
