Anne Ferguson-Smith
Regular biography
Anne Ferguson-Smith is a Fellow at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the School of Biological Sciences. She holds the Arthur Balfour Professor of Genetics title and is associated with the Department of Genetics. Her research focuses on the molecular events governing pre- and post-natal mammalian development, particularly the developmental role of imprinted genes and the epigenetic mechanisms controlling their parental-origin specific expression. She also investigates the epigenetic control of genome function during development, with an interest in repetitive elements. Her work spans epigenetic inheritance, development, physiology, gene regulation, and chromatin.
