Ms Jessica Alves is a Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of New South Wales, School of Chemistry. She completed her PhD at Queensland University of Technology in 2021, focusing on molecular photoswitches for laser lithography. Alves previously earned a first-class Honours degree at Monash University, where her research centered on first-principles calculations of topological insulators. She joined the ARC Centre of Excellence in Exciton Science at UNSW in 2021 as part of Prof. Timothy Schmidt’s group. Her research interests include the photochemistry of organic molecules, particularly photoswitches, and implementing photon upconversion to enhance solar cell efficiency.
