Dr Jeffrey Black is a Lecturer in Education-focused Chemistry at The University of New South Wales, School of Chemistry. They completed their B.Sc (Hons) in Nanotechnology and PhD in Chemistry at UNSW, where they developed an interest in education through the Teaching Fellowship program. At UNSW, Dr Black focuses on modernising chemical education through self-paced online learning modules, assessments with targeted feedback, and high-stakes digital assessment. They also have a secondary research interest in sustainability, specifically the use of ionic liquids to replace fossil fuel-derived products. Dr Black teaches across first-year chemistry and higher-level courses, including analytical chemistry.
