Nicola Clayton is a Fellow at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the School of Biological Sciences. She is a Professor of Comparative Cognition in the Department of Psychology. Her research focuses on comparative cognition, including topics such as convergent evolution, problem solving, mental time travel, theory of mind, and magic. Her work integrates insights from biology and psychology to explore the evolution and development of intelligence in non-verbal animals and pre-verbal children. She conducts behavioural testing and problem-solving research as part of her academic investigations.
