Regular biography
Maria Alcolea is a Fellow at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the School of Biological Sciences, Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience, and the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. Her research focuses on epithelial stem cell fate plasticity, tissue regeneration, ageing, and early tumorigenesis. She employs techniques such as quantitative lineage tracing, 3D long-term primary cultures, and single-cell RNA sequencing to investigate these areas. Alcolea also serves as a Theme Lead for Molecules and Cells: The Building Blocks of Life.
