Urmila Mahadev

Urmila Mahadev is an Assistant Professor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the California Institute of Technology, and holds the title of Nickerson Scholar. She earned her B.S. from the University of Southern California in 2010 and her Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018. Her research focuses on the cryptographic possibilities of quantum information, with notable contributions including quantum homomorphic encryption and verifiable delegation of quantum computation. Mahadev's work bridges theoretical computer science and quantum computing, and she continues to explore problems at this intersection.
