Paul Brumer is a University Professor and Roel Buck Professor of Chemical Physics at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on chemical physics, particularly the quantum control of molecular processes. He has extensively studied laser control of molecular dynamics, coherent control of chemical reactions, and the manipulation of product quantum states in unimolecular reactions. His work explores the use of light to steer chemical reactions and understand molecular behavior under coherent excitation. Brumer's research also includes the study of light-harvesting mechanisms in photosynthetic systems and the theoretical modeling of intramolecular energy transfer. His contributions span both experimental and theoretical approaches to coherent control in chemical and physical processes.
