Kylie Luska

Kylie Luska is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the Department of CHEM at the University of Toronto. Kylie L. Luska is a researcher at the University of Toronto with expertise in Chemical Education, Green Chemistry, Sustainable Chemistry, and Biomass Conversion. Her work focuses on developing sustainable catalytic systems for biomass conversion, particularly through the use of ionic liquids and supported ionic liquid phases (SILP). She investigates nanoparticle-based catalysts, including bimetallic and bifunctional systems, for selective hydrodeoxygenation and hydrogenation reactions. Her research also explores the role of ionic liquids in stabilizing nanoparticles and enhancing catalytic activity. Additionally, she contributes to chemical education through the creation of interactive learning materials and demonstrations.
