Robion Kirby is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on Geometry/Topology. Kirby has supervised numerous PhD dissertations, including works on topics such as the topology of manifolds, symplectic forms, and knot theory. He has authored and co-authored several publications in topological mathematics, including works on Lefschetz fibrations, quantum invariants, and 4-manifolds. Kirby's contributions to the field are reflected in his extensive list of publications and his role as an editor for the AMS Mathematical Surveys and Monographs series.
