Guy Roth

Guy Roth is an Associate Professor at The University of Sydney's BIO department. His research interests include Agronomy, Environmental management, Crop and pasture production, Agricultural land management, Soil sciences, Agriculture, land and farm management, Sustainable agricultural development, Food sustainability, and Sustainability accounting and reporting. He is the Director Northern Region Agriculture at The University of Sydney's Narrabri Campus. Roth has worked for 25 years as a scientist, research manager, and educator in agriculture. He was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of the Cotton Catchment Communities Cooperative Research Centre. He is a science in agriculture communication specialist and has experience in knowledge and adoption strategy for rural industries.

Guy Roth's research focuses on the sustainability and productivity of Australian irrigated cotton systems. His work examines water-use efficiency, productivity trends, and the environmental and social impacts of cotton production. Roth explores the integration of remote sensing and machine learning to monitor crop health and optimize irrigation practices. He also investigates the relationship between soil properties, such as pH and moisture, and crop yield. His studies highlight the importance of climate change adaptation in primary industries and the role of sustainable practices in maintaining the social license of agricultural sectors.
