ONG Yew Soon

ONG Yew Soon is a Professor at Nanyang Technological University, School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Department of Mathematics. He holds a PhD from the University of Southampton and is affiliated with the Centre for Computational Design and Science through a cross appointment. His research interests include artificial intelligence, computational intelligence, memetic computing, evolutionary optimization, intelligent multi-agents, and data analytics.

Yew-Soon Ong is a Yidan Endowed Professor in Artificial Intelligence at Nanyang Technological University, specializing in Statistical ML, Evolutionary Optimization, Safe AI, and Physics AI. His research focuses on advancing machine learning techniques for big data, improving evolutionary algorithms for complex optimization problems, and integrating physical principles into AI systems. He has contributed significantly to the development of memetic algorithms, surrogate modeling, and adaptive sampling methods. His work emphasizes the application of AI in engineering design and simulation-based optimization, with a focus on scalability, safety, and performance evaluation in multiobjective scenarios.
