Paul A. Bartlett is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his A.B. and A.M. from Harvard University in 1969 and his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1972. His research focuses on bio-organic and synthetic chemistry, utilizing organic synthesis to address biological problems. He has held various prestigious fellowships and awards, including NIH, Sloan, Humboldt, and Miller Professorships. He also served as Chair of the Department of Chemistry from 1996 to 2000. His contributions have been recognized through numerous honors, including the ACS Cope Scholar Award and fellowships with the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
