Thomas C Preston is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at McGill University. His research focuses on analytical and environmental chemical physics, particularly the study of microphysical and chemical processes in atmospheric aerosol particles. His work includes topics such as hygroscopicity, efflorescence, oxidative aging, and liquid-liquid phase separation. His laboratory employs optical trapping and single particle spectroscopy to investigate these processes. He teaches courses such as CHEM 219, Introduction to Atmospheric Chemistry, and CHEM 377, Instrumental Analysis 2.
