Regular biography
Tony Mittermaier is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at McGill University. His research focuses on biomolecular dynamics, including the study of how proteins, DNA, RNA, and metabolites change shape, react, and assemble. His lab employs experimental, theoretical, and computational approaches to investigate these processes, with an emphasis on developing new methods for measuring biomolecular behavior and understanding the physical chemical principles underlying living systems. He teaches courses such as Methods in Chemical Biology and Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy.
