C.J. Li is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at McGill University, holding the E.B. Eddy Chair and serving as Canada Research Chair in Green/Organic Chemistry. He is also Co-Director of the FQRNT Centre for Green Chemistry and Catalysis. His research focuses on green chemistry, including the development of new reactions for sustainable synthesis, catalytic conversion of small molecules and biomass, and photochemistry. Li's work involves green solvents, such as water, and the creation of environmentally benign methods for organic synthesis. He has contributed to the field through various awards and fellowships, including the Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award and the Killam Fellowship. He teaches courses such as CHEM 462: Green Chemistry and CHEM 512: Catalysis, Concepts and Applications.
