Regular biography
Lucas Caire da Silva is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at McGill University. He holds a B.Sc. from the University of Campinas (2010) and a Ph.D. from the University of Florida (2015). Prior to joining McGill, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research (2016-2020) and as a Research Group Leader there (2020-2023). His research focuses on materials chemistry, chemical biology, and green and sustainable chemistry, with an emphasis on designing synthetic nano and microreactors inspired by biological systems. He teaches courses such as CHEM 204 and CHEM 574.
